About The Greenwood Bea - WFPG

The people of Tulsa City deserve a voice. A voice that highlights the issues facing the city and talks about things that matter to our people. With the goal to become the voice of reason and facts for our community, we announce the launch of The Greenwood Beat Radio Station!

It’s a pleasure for us to lay the foundation of a radio station that will focus on bringing attention to prevalent issues in our beautiful city, finding sustainable solutions to Tulsa city’s problems, telling the story of Greenwood, promoting local-owned businesses, and creating opportunities for our people.

Located in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma, the radio station is based out of the Original Black Wall Street, i.e., the Greenwood District.

All About WFPG Radio Station

WFPG was established to honor the legacy of my Grandmother – Wilma Factory Phifer Green. Born in Carbon, Grandma Tee later moved to McAlester, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, she made a positive impact not only on the lives of her family members but the entire community.

Set to launch on 8th June 2023, the radio station now has its own website – https://thegreenwoodbeat.com/.

The station will air a range of programs for different age groups. You can tune in to our radio station by visiting our website to catch up on programs.

Radio Shows

The highlight of the Greenwood Beat is Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show with Angela K. Chambers and Francetta L. Mays. The show will kickstart its broadcast on June 8 and will be live every Thursday from 2-3 PM CST.

The Maestro, Carle King will present The Quiet Storm: Magic After Dark every Saturday at 7 PM. He is a prominent entrepreneur who owns multiple local stations and helped our team set up the operations of WFPG.

Pokie Phifer will bring Independent Artist Review Radio Talk Show every Friday at 7 PM CST. Starting June 9th, the host will highlight local talent and give a voice to artists so they can showcase their musical singles to the audience.

Every Sunday, you can catch Bro. Alvin Muhammad at 1:30 PM CST where you can learn something new every week on A Trumpet on Greenwood.

Also, we are working on bringing an insightful show to highlight the contributions of the Historical Greenwood Chamber of Commerce to our community. The talk show will focus on telling the untold history of Greenwood and past and current businesses located there.

More shows will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
